This policy covers the website thewhyandwhere.com and "The Why & Where Studio", the internal app we use to run our YouTube channel. "We" and "us" mean The Why & Where.
This website
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking scripts, loads nothing from third parties, and collects no personal data. Our host, Cloudflare, may process standard technical data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
The Why & Where Studio (our internal app)
- It is an internal tool, used only by the owner of The Why & Where channel. It is not offered to the public, and no one else signs in to it.
- It uses YouTube API Services to upload and manage the channel's own videos, playlists, captions and comments, and to read the channel's own YouTube Analytics (for example views, watch time and audience retention).
- The data it reads is stored in the channel's private database (Supabase), used only to run and improve the channel, and kept for as long as the channel needs it.
- We do not sell this data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising.
- Limited Use: The Why & Where Studio's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
By using YouTube features through our app, the channel owner is also bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Revoking access
Access can be revoked at any time in your Google Account: Security → Third-party connections, at myaccount.google.com/connections. Once revoked, our stored sign-in tokens no longer work. Stored analytics are deleted on request within 30 days; write to the address below.
Retention
Channel analytics are kept while the channel operates, so we can compare videos over time. Sign-in tokens are kept only on the owner's computer and are replaced whenever access is renewed.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
